Carafe by Tord Boontje for Triflow
This elegant, beautifully simple glass carafe would make the perfect present for a wine buff. Designed by Dutch designer Tord Boontje, a professor at the Royal College of Art, it is mouth-blown in the UK by family company Suffolk Studio Glass in borosilicate glass, and is dishwasher safe.

House & Garden Reader Event
Triflow Concepts hosted a House & Garden Reader Event at its Head Office in Central London.
The theme of the evening was eco-design, an issue close to Triflow Concepts' heart. Well-renowned architect Rabih Hage held a talk on the increase in demand for sustainable solutions for interior and exterior.

Quadro at Roundhouse
We are very excited that the first Triflow Quadro System has been installed at the Roundhouse kitchen showroom in Wigmore Street, London as part of London Design Week. Designers and end-users were able to try the sophisticated mechanism which activates the filtered, near-boiling and cold water as well as regular hot and cold water.
Roundhouse has been an established supplier of the Franke Triflow range and will now be purchasing the full Triflow original, Triflow Electronic and Triflow Quadro range directly from us. These will be displayed in their 8 nationwide showrooms. The first Quadro Systems will be available to order from mid-October.

Smallbone of Devizes to feature Quadro System in all showrooms
We are proud that exclusive kitchen designers Smallbone have agreed to install the Triflow Quadro System in all 12 showrooms nationwide. Smallbone were already devoted Triflow Concepts dealers but starting from November you will be able to put the Quadro System to the test in all their showrooms.

Exclusive, bespoke furniture designers Mark Wilkinson have agreed to expand the range of Triflow Concepts to include the Triflow Quadro System.

Synonymous with the claim of exclusive, individual kitchens and first-class quality in every detail Poggenpohl has established itself worldwide and is currently represented in more than 70 countries around the globe. We are proud to announce that the complete Triflow range has now been added to the Poggenpohl approved list of suppliers. From November 2011 our latest innovative appliance, the Quadro System, will be on show in all Poggenpohl showrooms.

Zaha Hadid's tap for Trilfow Concepts was the perfect complement to Marazzi's curvilinear kitchen design displayed at this year's 100% Design show. The stand drew attention from the international press for being the most expensive kitchen in the world.

Triflow Filter Cartridges can Help to Remove Iodine-131 From Contaminated Water
On Wednesday morning, the head of water purification for the Tokyo water department announced that infants in Tokyo and surrounding areas should not drink tap water. He said iodine-131 had been detected in water samples at a level of 210 becquerels per litre. The recommended limit for infants is 100 becquerels per litre. For adults, the recommended limit is 300 becquerels litre.

Triflow Concepts Future Talent Design Competition
Triflow Concepts is happy to announce that the 2011 Triflow Future Talents Competition will be opening a call for submissions later this spring. Launched in 2009, the annual Triflow Future Talents Competition encourages young designers to explore new approaches to designing water solutions for the kitchen or bathroom. From our legacy as a manufacturer of the first three way tap to deliver hot, cold and filtered water through dedicated waterways in a single spout to the new Quadro design models by Zaha Hadid, Triflow Concepts has always been committed to innovation. The Triflow Future Talents competition is an opportunity to build upon this expertise at the same time as supporting emerging design talent.

Antibiotics, agriculture and our water
The Food and Drug Administration recently confirmed that 80 percent of all antibiotics used in the U.S. go to animal agriculture. The heavy use of antibiotics for animals also means that many of these medicines are passed into the water table and possibly into groundwater sources. Luckily for us in the UK, factory farming has not yet taken over, but the principles of what is happening in America raise serious question about what we put in our water. In Europe, regulations on hormone and antibiotic use are stricter than in the US, but we must remain vigilant about what chemicals are permitted to enter our water systems.

Crossing Oceans to Raise Awareness: Triflow Concepts & the Plastiki’s shared vision
In an effort to raise awareness about plastic waste and pollution, a team of adventurers led by David de Rothschild sailed crossed the Pacific Ocean in a ship build from waste plastic. They sailed the Plastiki, a 60-foot catamaran made out of 12,500 reclaimed plastic bottles and other recycled PET plastic and waste products. On 20 March 2010, the Plastiki team set off from San Francisco, California to cross the Pacific Ocean and arrived in Sydney harbour on 26July 2010.

Neri and Hu Research and Design Office (NHDRO) at the RIBA
In London at the RIBA to discuss their winning design for the Architectural Review’s 2010 Emerging Architecture competition, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu described their work in the fast-changing environment of mainland China. Projects range from exclusive private homes to new hotel projects in Zhengzhou, Henan and Zhejiang Province. In their architecture and design work, NHDRO strive “to develop work which displays how architecture can challenge our everyday life through critical thinking, experimentation, rigorous analysis and fresh design methodology.”

CarmodyGroarke at the RIBA
Triflow Concepts was thrilled to sponsor the Architectural Review’s Emerging Architects awards for 2010 and on 15 February winners Kevin Carmody and Andy Groarke came to the RIBA to discuss their winning project, Studio East Dining. Their project provided a temporary dining venue looking over the Olympic site and was the latest in a series of temporary architectural interventions that have become something of a signature for the pair.
